CLEVER Finalizes First Survey, Creating an Emission Factors Knowledge Database
As part of the CLEVER project, two key activities were recently completed.
The first was a comprehensive review of the current emission factor landscape, including databases, LCA tools, standards, regulations, and scientific literature, to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. This review revealed significant methodological inconsistencies, limited fuel specification data, and a gap in tools for calculating emission factors for fuel blends.
The second activity was a stakeholder survey that received more than 160 responses from participants across the transport and logistics value chain. The survey highlighted the critical need for harmonizing GHG emission factors across sectors and geographies, the importance of detailed fuel-specific information, and the necessity of developing tools for fuel blend calculations.
These findings will guide the development of standardized methodologies and ongoing stakeholder engagement to ensure the emission factors meet industry needs and support sustainable practices.
